Black Friday All Year Round

If You Have Bad Credit Need a Loan or Best Way To Save Money on Black Friday

We all saw the carnage last year ITS “Black Friday “.  The American shopping event known as Black Friday has been gathering popularity in Britain over the last couple of years, resulting in scenes of the British public literally climbing over each other to grab hold of that heavily discounted TV or Blu Ray player.  But the truth is it is possible to get good value all year around if you know where to look.

In America, Black Friday has traditionally always been held on the Friday after Thanks Giving, and marks the start of the Christmas shopping season.  It has been around in Britain since around 2003, but took off in popularity in 2013 when Walmart owned Asda decided to get involved in the mass discounting of consumer goods for the event.  In reality, retailers have sales all the time but do not advertise them to any great extent.  Proportionally, you’ll find many more products discounted throughout the year than you will on that single day in November, so before you go out and stretch yourself by taking out that payday loan to buy a new TV, follow these next steps to see if you could grab yourself an even bigger bargain.

Especially If You Have Bad Credit Save Money First

1. Voucher Websites

There are many voucher websites now online which will have regular offers for consumer goods by the way of codes entered at the checkout when you purchase.  www.vouchercodes.co.uk and www.hotukdeals.com are two examples of places where these voucher codes can be found, and regularly point you in the direction of heavily discounted goods all year round.  Keeping a close eye on what’s hot can help you to grab that bargain.

2. Price Watch

Price tracking websites like www.camelcamelcamel.com will allow you to see the historical price fluctuations of products online.  This will allow you to see whether the advertised discount is a true reflection of value, or whether the item in question is selling for a similar price outside the deal window.  Be careful with the advertised RRPs during sales promotions.  Some products may have a high RRP, but the intention of the retailer was always to sell them way under this price whether they had a deal or not.  Price tracking websites will allow you to view whether this is the case, and determine whether the purchase offers value for money or not.

3. Loyalty Cards

Most of the major retailers and more specifically Supermarkets will have a loyalty card scheme for their regular customers.  The points you collect throughout the year on your regular shop can come in handy when making sure you get a good deal on your next big purchase.  Once signed up, take the time to research what the points mean for you.  Some retailers will place a monetary value against the points you collect, allowing you to use them to discount future purchase.  Others may offer you vouchers for money off purchases at other retail partners.  Either way, these points can be a great way of getting value as part of going about your normal weekly shop.

Signing up to the loyalty cards will usually also enrol you into the retailers newsletter or e mail list.  Great deals will be offered form time to time to customers who are taking advantage of the points system, so it’s worth checking your inbox for one off items which will be discounted on an exclusive basis for regular customers.

4. Haggle

You’d be surprised at how many retailers are open to negotiation when it comes to the sale of consumer goods.  Even some of the major retailers would cut in to their profit slightly, rather than lose the sale completely.   It’s just a case of asking them “What’s the best price you can offer for this item?”  According to www.moneysavingexpert.com, 50% of shoppers have successfully haggled a discount from some of the largest retailers like Comet, John Lewis & Currys PC World.  The shops have room to manoeuvre on the sale of their goods.  If you don’t ask, you don’t get!

Especially if you have bad credit

Planning your spending by using the above methods can help to grab you a bargain at any time of year on your one off purchases.  As always, it’s never advisable to be applying for payday loans or short term loans in order to take advantage of supposed 1 day sale items.  Especially if you have bad credit to begin with.  Its false economy as it will undoubtedly lead to costing you more in the long run.  With a keen eye, and the right timing you can get your new wide screen TV, at a great price, without the need to fight your way through the crowds on Black Friday.
